High-performance felt, far from the old stuff
Today's torch-on felt is a world away from the thin, short-lived felt of decades past. Applied in multiple bonded layers, it forms a tough, seamless membrane that stands up to years of weather.

The benefits of a felt roof
Cost-effective
Felt is one of the most affordable flat roof systems without compromising durability.
Multi-layer strength
Bonded layers create a tough membrane that resists splitting and weathering.
Great for repairs too
Ideal for patching and overlaying tired flat roofs as well as full replacements.
Long service life
A properly laid modern felt roof will give many years of reliable protection.
Tidy detailing
Clean upstands, trims and outlets that keep water moving off the roof.
Guaranteed work
Fully insured and backed by our workmanship guarantee.
The difference is in the prep
A felt roof lives or dies by the deck beneath it and the care taken at the edges. We make sure the boards are sound, the falls are right and every upstand is properly dressed.
Get those details right and modern felt gives you a dependable, low-cost roof for many years to come.
- Sound deck & falls

What our customers say
Frequently asked questions
How long does a felt roof last?
A modern, well-installed torch-on felt roof typically lasts 15 to 20 years or more. The prep work and detailing make a big difference to its lifespan.
Can you overlay my old felt roof?
Sometimes, if the existing roof is sound and dry. We'll inspect it first and advise honestly whether an overlay or a full strip-and-replace is the better option.
Is modern felt better than the old-style felt?
Far better. Modern torch-on built-up felt is bonded in tough, multi-layer sheets that comfortably outlast the thin, single-layer felts of the past.
Can a felt roof be walked on?
For occasional maintenance access, yes. For regular foot traffic such as a balcony we'd usually suggest fibreglass or a protected finish, just tell us how the roof will be used.
